The lineup for Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi, Monday-Friday 1pm), which will air from April 6th to 10th, has been announced. On the 6th, actor Hiroshi Katsuno will be the guest; on the 7th, singer Hiromi Iwasaki; on the 8th, actor Kinya Kitaoji; on the 9th, the husband-and-wife duo "Humbert Humbert"; and on the 10th, actress Mayumi Asaka.
Katsuno is 76 years old. He has been married to Cathy Nakajima for 47 years. He made his debut in the police drama "Taiyo ni Hoero!" (Howl at the Sun!). At the time, he still spoke with a Kumamoto accent and lacked the basics of acting, so he was constantly making mistakes on set. 52 years after playing Detective Texas, he shares some untold stories.
Iwasaki has reached her 50th anniversary since her debut. She says her greatest source of comfort is her two-year-old grandchild. The program will show a video of her grandchild singing while imitating Iwasaki. She will also talk about her mysterious experience of singing in front of the pyramids 40 years ago and the power of the pyramids.
Kitaoji made his film debut at the age of 13, and it's been 70 years since then. He says that Kinnosuke Yorozuya took a liking to him from the very beginning of his career. Last year, he was awarded the Artistic Merit Award by his alma mater, Waseda University, and he says he was very happy about it.
Humbert Humbert has been together for 28 years. They recently had a busy schedule, performing the theme song for the NHK serial drama "Bakebake," which aired until last month, and making their first appearance on the Kohaku Uta Gassen (Red and White Song Contest). The two, who are also parents of three sons, talk about how they share household chores and about their son who cooks dinner. They also reflect on their journey so far, including how they met in college.
Asaka-san made headlines for her appearance in the Asadora"Bakebake." She lives with her eldest daughter, actress Mao Tezuka, but Tezuka ran away from home when she was 16, and they lived separately for 10 years. She talks about her days living with her daughter again after a long time.
