Actor Fuku Suzuki attended a press conference in Tokyo on April 2nd for the upcoming drama series "Aku no Hana" (TV Tokyo, Thursdays at midnight), which premieres on April Getsuku , along with co-star Ano and others. He reflected on filming some of the shocking scenes.
The drama is a live-action adaptation of Shuzo Oshimi's manga of the same name, which was serialized in "Bessatsu Shonen Magazine" (Kodansha) from 2009 to 2014. It is a dramatic coming-of-age story depicting the "reckless behavior" of adolescent boys and girls. It consists of 12 episodes.
Reflecting on the filming, Suzuki said, "Every day was memorable," and added, "There were so many climactic scenes. Just when I thought we'd cleared one, more and more would come... I myself had to go shirtless, then completely naked, then just in my underwear, and it was quite a challenge (laughs)."
She said that the scenes where she showed her skin were filmed in the mountains, and she chuckled, "It was really cold because the filming took place from autumn to winter." "I was on the verge of freezing to death. It was good that there was more clothing from the high school scenes onwards, but in the end there was a scene where I went into the sea, so it was cold," she said, and looking around at Ano-san, Manami Igashira-san, and Aruno Nakanishi from the idol group Nogizaka46, she revealed, "Everyone here has had a cold experience."
Suzuki appealed to viewers, saying, "I think this is a work in which you will be able to see a 'new Fuku Suzuki'." He continued, "It is a work that the cast and staff poured their souls and blood into creating. I would say it is particularly daring even among TV Tokyo's daring dramas, and I think it shows that it is okay to be this daring in a time when terrestrial television is becoming stricter, and I hope you will enjoy that sense of transgression."
