Actor Shunsuke Nakamura appeared at a press conference held in Tokyo on April 1st for the Fuji TV Thursday drama "Tonight, in the Secret Kitchen" (Thursdays at 10 PM), which will start airing on Getsuku.
The drama tells the story of Ayumi Tsubokura (Haruka Kinami), a housewife whose heart has been worn down by her emotionally abusive husband, who unexpectedly meets Kei (Mahiro Takasugi), an Italian chef, and grows closer to him.
Nakamura, who plays Ayumi's emotionally abusive husband, Tsubokura Wataru, honestly shared his feelings, saying, "There are a lot of scenes where I have to yell at my wife, and even after filming is over, the staff members say things like, 'That's awful!' and 'That's scary!' The actress playing my daughter also says, 'That's terrible,' so it's exhausting both mentally and physically. It's more tiring than my usual roles. It's tough."
He continued, "My whole body is screaming in pain, but I think being told it's 'terrible' is a huge success from a dramatic standpoint, so I'll use that as motivation to keep going," and then apologized to Kinami, who plays his wife, saying, "Sorry! This is just acting!"
Takasugi, Miori Takimoto, and Tsutsui Mariko also appeared at the production announcement.
