Actor Tomohisa Yamashita attended the kickoff groundbreaking ceremony and completion report press conference for his starring film "Shijiki Fudosan" (directed by Taisuke Kawamura, opening May 15) on March 19.
The series is based on the manga of the same name serialized in "Big Comic" (Shogakukan). It's a social comedy about Nagase Zaichi (Yamashita), a real estate salesman who, after a strange turn of events, can no longer lie, and who uses only his honesty and integrity as weapons to delve into the "dark side" of the real estate industry. The TV series aired on NHK in 2022, and a special drama and a second season of the TV series aired in 2024.
Yamashita, who is celebrating his 30th anniversary in show business this year, said that "it's rare for a drama to continue for so long," and confessed about the reactions he has received so far, "I've started getting recognized a lot in saunas. By older men (laughs)."
He continued, "Real estate is something you can't live without. If you live in Japan, you're bound to have some involvement with it at least once, and in terms of age range, I've started getting approached by all sorts of people." When the MC asked how he responds when approached in a sauna, he revealed, "In those situations, I'm just 'honest' and we get to know each other completely naked."
Haruka Fukuhara, Rika Izumi, Shinobu Hasegawa from the comedy duo "Sissonne," and director Kawamura also attended the event.
