Shunsuke Michieda (23), a member of the popular group " Naniwa Danshi, " appeared on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi) on March 18th, where he talked about how he got into the entertainment industry.
Michieda revealed that he had been going to SMAP concerts since he was a child, influenced by his mother, who was a huge SMAP fan. "I don't remember it at all, but it seems she used to carry me there," he said.
Since then, I've been listening to SMAP's music and have developed a sense of admiration for them. I decided, "I want to try it too," and sent my resume to the agency. After sending it in four times, I was finally called for an audition.
After joining the agency, Michieda had no prior dance experience, so it was difficult for him to keep up at first. "I had no choice but to just work as hard as I could. I was told that 'juniors should be energetic,' so I focused on being energetic as much as possible," he recalled.
Naniwa Danshi, who celebrated their 5th anniversary this year, said they have never once thought about quitting, and with a look of fulfillment, they said, "It went by so fast. I think it was a really intense 5 years."
