It has been announced that "The Abandoned Saint's Otherworldly Food Journey: I Summoned a Camper Van with a Hidden Skill," a light novel by Yoneori published by KADOKAWA's "KADOKAWA BOOKS," will be adapted into a TV anime in 2026. It has also been announced that Sora Tokui will voice Rin Sora Tokui, the protagonist who is summoned to another world only to be banished in seconds, and Yuki Ono will voice Vil, a skilled adventurer. A teaser visual has also been released depicting Vil and Rin happily devouring skewers of milk trout. Atsushi Nigorikawa will direct the anime, and EMT Squared will produce it.
The story follows Rin Takanashi, a woman in her late twenties who is summoned to another world and uses her skills in camping vehicles (motor homes) and survival strategies to enjoy a "food-filled journey" in that other world.
Tokui commented, "I love both eating and cooking, so I was really happy when I was cast as Rin! All the dishes that appear in the show look delicious and make you want to eat them...! Pay attention to the wonderful friends who enjoy eating in every episode. The show funnily depicts the simple yet happy moments of getting full of energy from eating. Please look forward to it!"
Ono said, "I did it! I, Yuki Ono, a voice actor who loves to eat, will be taking on a food-related journey as Vil from Dragoul! And it's a story about a saint, which I love! Food x saint! It's like garlic rice with a soft-boiled egg and curry! Thanks to the kindness of the staff, the studio is filled with delicious food, and I'll be broadcasting from this wonderful location! Please cook some rice and wait for the broadcast!"
