The NHK Taiga drama "BROTHERS IN ARMS （Toyotomi Brothers!）", starring actor Taiga Nakano, will air its 10th episode, "Nobunaga's Entry into Kyoto," on March 15th. In this episode, Jun Kaname will make his first appearance as Akechi Mitsuhide.
Akechi Mitsuhide was a treacherous minister who, in the Honnō-ji Incident—considered one of the greatest mysteries in Japanese history—driven his lord, Oda Nobunaga, the ruler of Japan, to suicide, dramatically altering the course of history. Although he is also said to have been a man of great character, beloved by his people and hailed as a wise ruler, and a cultured individual with a high level of education, his true character remains shrouded in mystery.
"BROTHERS IN ARMS （Toyotomi Brothers!）" is the 65th Taiga drama. With Toyotomi Hidenaga (Koichiro) as the protagonist, it depicts the miraculous feat of unifying Japan together with his older brother Hideyoshi (Tokichiro) through their strong bond, a success story of dreams and hopes.
The script is written by Hiroyuki Yatsu, known for his work on "Hanzawa Naoki" (TBS) and the Asadora drama series "Ochoyan." The music is composed by Hideaki Kimura, and the narration is provided by actress Sakura Ando .
In episode 10, Nobunaga ( Masaki Suda Shun Oguri ) finally conquers Mino, and Hanbei (Masaki Suda) becomes a retainer of Fujikichiro (Sosuke Ikematsu).
Meanwhile, Akechi Mitsuhide (played by Jun Kaname) arrives in town as an envoy of Ashikaga Yoshiaki to visit Nobunaga. He asks Nobunaga to eliminate the Miyoshi clan, who had assassinated the previous shogun, and to march to Kyoto to install Yoshiaki as shogun. Nobunaga agrees to the request and makes peace by marrying his sister, Ichi (played by Aoi Miyazaki), to Asai Nagamasa ( Ayumu Nakajima Aoi Miyazaki), who would be an obstacle to Nobunaga's march to Kyoto.
Before getting married, Ichi asks Koichiro (Nakano) to do something for her...
