The TV drama series "The Beginning of the Sea," starring Ren Meguro of the popular group "Snow Man" and broadcast on Fuji TV's "Getsuku" slot in July 2024, is now available for free streaming on the video streaming service "TVer."
"The Beginning of the Sea" is a completely original work with the theme of "parent-child love," written by Miku Ikukata, directed by Taiki Kazama, and produced by Ken Murase, reuniting the team behind "Silent" (same station), which aired in October 2022 and was Meguro's breakthrough work as an actor.
The story is about the protagonist Tsukioka Natsu (Meguro), whose life changes when he learns of the existence of her biological daughter Umi (Izumiya Sena) after the death of his university girlfriend Nagumo Mizuki (Furukawa Kotone).
In addition to Meguro, Furukawa, and Hoshina, the show also stars Kasumi Arimura, Taisei Kido, Sosuke Ikematsu, and Shinobu Otake. The series has been a hot topic, winning the Drama Grand Prize at the 2024 TVer Awards.
