It was announced on March 6th that "TV x Mrs." (TBS), a program hosted by the popular band Mrs. Green Apple , will be broadcast regularly on Mondays at 9pm starting in April. This was revealed at a briefing on the April schedule changes held at the station in Akasaka, Tokyo on the same day.
The show has aired twice in the past, on the same Monday, and has proven to be a success, attracting support from all generations. It features collaborations with famous artists, hilarious skits with comedians, and extremely demanding physical challenges on a large-scale set. It also features a wide variety of programs, including heartwarming location shoots where the show leaves the studio and interacts with students.
Takenaga Norihiro, who is in charge of general direction, revealed, "I had an in-depth discussion with (vocalist) Motoki Omori about why the rock band Mrs. Green Apple has a regular spot on a TV show." He smiled and said, "The reason was simple and clear. He told me, 'I love TV!' That comment made me really happy, being a TV person."
He continued, "When we were children and teenagers, it was television that gave us excitement and thrills. Now it's our turn to spread excitement and thrills through television, to bring energy to all of Japan. I was also touched by (Omori's) passion. I want to make a good program with these people. I want to make a program that will bring energy and vitality to all of Japan."
