It has been announced that TV Tokyo will be broadcasting a new program called "Animori!", which will focus on short anime, every Sunday at 7:00 AM starting April 12th.
The kickoff titles in the lineup include "Ashibe QQ Goma-chan, Grade 3," "Kumaba (Season 3)," "Going Out Baby Shark (Season 2)," and "Desert Catch! Tinipin," with "Planosaurus Gachiko Seibutsu Club" set to launch in July.
Risa Uehara, known for her role as "Panto!'s Big Sister" on the NHK Educational TV children's program "Okaasan to Issho," will serve as the program's host. The special program, "Animori! Just Before the Broadcast Start Special (tentative title)," will be broadcast at 7:00 AM on April 5th.
Yoshikazu Beniya, head of the anime production department at TV Tokyo's anime division, commented on the new program, "As content consumption accelerates, the culture of short anime, which provides high satisfaction in a short amount of time, has now become essential for all generations, and both broadcasters and anime-related companies are increasingly focusing on this as a great possibility for the anime and IP business. At the same time, in order to develop new IP and new anime, we thought it would be good to have a large platform to prevent them from getting lost in the crowd, while still valuing the individual appeal of each one."
"So this spring, we've gathered together a number of popular short anime series that are already popular on their own into a 30-minute time slot, creating a program that viewers can enjoy from a variety of angles. Every Sunday morning at 7am, enjoy the short anime on TV, just like picking up your smartphone when you wake up. We'll also be considering collaborations between characters from different worlds that are only possible with this program. We hope you'll look forward to it."
