It has been announced that the TV anime series "The Fish That Got Away Was Big, but the Fish That Was Caught Was Too Big (Nigezuri)," based on the light novel written by Momoyo Manyo and illustrated by Mito Itsuki, will begin airing on TOKYO MX and BS11 from April 1st. It has also been announced that Natsuki Hanae, son of the Marquis Marchay family and cousin of Renato Placido; Kaori Maeda will play Eleonora Kaori Maeda, daughter of Baron Casciari; and Rumi Okubo will play Rosalia Pinotti, daughter of the Marquis Pinotti family. The second main promotional video has also been released, depicting the daily life of the protagonist, Maria, as she lives at school in the kingdom.
Hanae commented, "Ireneo, the character I play, is a cool and frivolous guy! But he also has a certain charm that makes him hard to hate, so it's fun to play him. Maeda said, "Eleonora is a villainous young lady, but I was able to take on the role of an impactful villain, which is something I haven't had much opportunity to play until now, and it was a very valuable experience. Okubo commented, "Rosalia was supposed to be a bit of a mean young lady, but she was drawn in by Mimi's cheerfulness and purity and ended up becoming a good girl....She regrets this, but she can't bring herself to hate Mimi; in fact, she likes her, which makes her a really cute girl. This is a very refreshing and enjoyable film, so I think you'll enjoy it from many different angles, with refreshing scenes and romantic depictions that will make your heart flutter! The story is a romantic comedy about a young lady who loves fighting and is looking for a husband. Maria (Mimi), the daughter of the Duke of Annovazzi, a family renowned for its martial arts, is the youngest child, but her talent for martial arts is discovered and she is raised as the heir. However, when her younger brother is born, she is suddenly forced to step down from her role and study abroad in the neighboring Kingdom of Rubini, where she is busy looking for a husband. However, at her Royal Academy graduation party, she meets the prince of Rubini, Renato di Rubini, for the first time, and he announces that he has broken off their engagement, something she has no recollection of.
The anime will be directed by Akira Oguro and produced by TROYCA. It will feature voice actors Yu Serizawa as Yu Serizawa Annovazzi, Atsushi Tamaru as Renato Di Rubini, Saori Hayami, Shuichiro Umeda, and Taku Yashiro.
