To commemorate the second anniversary of the broadcast of the TV anime " Kaiju No. 8, " which is based on the popular manga by Naoya Matsumoto that was serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump +," it has been announced that a retrospective screening of the first and second seasons, "Season 1 & 2 Retrospective Screening Strategy," will be held from April 16th at TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro (Toshima-ku, Tokyo), TOHO Cinemas Tachikawa Tachihi (Tachikawa City, Tokyo), and TOHO Cinemas Umeda (Kita-ku, Osaka).
All episodes that have aired on TV so far will be screened over eight weeks. On May 30th, the final week, a talk event will be held at TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro, with Masaya Fukunishi , who plays Kafka Hibino/ Kaiju No. 8, and Koki Uchiyama , who plays Gen Narumi , taking to the stage.
" Kaiju No. 8" was serialized in "Shonen Jump+" from July 2020 to July 2025. Set in Japan, a monster superpower where monsters mercilessly invade everyday life, the story follows the exploits of protagonist Kafka Hibino, whose body is transformed into a monster by a mysterious creature. It also garnered attention when it was selected as the Grand Prize winner in the Web Manga category of the "Next Manga Awards 2021." The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2024, and the second season from July to September 2025. It has also been announced that a "final chapter" of the anime will be produced.
