The manga "The Duke-in-Chief, Who Said 'I Have No Intention to Love You,' But For Some Reason, He's Doting on Me," currently being serialized on the web manga service COMIC Polaris (Flex Comics), has been adapted into a TV anime series and will begin airing on TV Asahi and BS Asahi in July. The story follows Elsa, a poor but positive-minded young lady from a fallen noble family, and Julius, the elite but clumsy and complicated Duke-in-Chief, who enter into a "contract marriage" on the day they meet due to a shared interest. The anime will be directed by Matsui Hitoyuki and produced by Zero-G and Glass. Yui Ishikawa will play Elsa, and Soma Saito will play Julius.
Ishikawa commented, "The relationship between Elsa and Julius is so frustrating, with misunderstandings and them never getting closer because of them being misunderstood. This is a story that will make your heart flutter with the two clumsy and pure characters. Please watch with warm eyes! Look forward to the broadcast of 'Kimi Ai'!"
Saito said, "Beautiful images, charming characters, and a frustrating yet captivating story. I am honored to be involved in the animation of such a wonderful work. I haven't seen the finished footage yet, but I am looking forward to seeing Elsa, Julius, and the others in action. I look forward to your support!"
