It has been announced that Ryota Suzuki and Tomohiro Ohno will be appearing as voice actors in the TV anime "Haibara-kun's Strong and Youthful New Game," based on the light novel by Kazuki Amemiya, published by HJ Bunko (Hobby Japan). Suzuki will play Nagiura Tatsuya, a classmate of protagonist Natsuki Haibara who is a member of the basketball club, while Ohno will play Shiratori Reta, a considerate and caring leader of the group.
Suzuki commented, "Tatsuya's appearance and tone of voice may seem rough and simple, but you can definitely sense a wavering heart inside him. This is what makes him such a charming character - he's full of humanity. He's caring and compassionate towards his friends, and he always gives his all in both club activities and play, so I threw myself into standing in front of the microphone so I could fully express his passionate personality."
Ohno said, "Shiratori Reta is a gentle and refreshing leader of the group. He's so good at reading other people's feelings that I wondered if he was really a high school student... (laughs). At first, he gave me the impression of being a mature guy, but as I read through the story, I realized that he has many thoughts and is a real young man. I will do my best to portray Reta's charm and his individuality! Please look forward to the broadcast!"
The series is a "Strong New Game" school romantic comedy about the protagonist, Natsuki Haibara, who failed at her high school debut but one day travels back in time to just before she enrolls in high school and starts her high school life all over again. The anime is directed by Misuzu Hoshino and produced by Studio Comet. Yuto Uemura will play Natsuki Haibara, and the cast also includes Kanade Takao, Kanna Nakamura, Aya Yamane, and Sayumi Suzushiro. It will begin airing on TBS, BS11, and other networks from April.
