It has been announced that the TV anime "Marriage Toxin," based on the manga written by Kaiban and illustrated by Yoda Mizuki, which is currently being serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump +," will be broadcast on the Kansai TV/Fuji TV anime slot "Ka Anibaru!!" from 11:00 PM on April 7th.
New character visuals of Gero Hikaru, Kinosaki Mei, and others drawn by character designer and chief animation director Tokuoka Kohei, as well as Valentine's Day cards featuring mini characters drawn by sub-character designer Sako Yukari, have been released. The official account X (@marritoxi_PR) will be holding a Valentine's Day campaign where you can win autographed illustrations from the cast.
The story is a battle action "matchmaking" story about a young man, Gero Hikaru, a "poison user" who has been an assassin for hundreds of years, who, in order to keep his bloodline alive, seeks the perfect marriage with a marriage scammer, Kinosaki Mei. The story has been gaining popularity, having been ranked 8th in the web manga category of the "Next Manga Awards 2022."
The anime will be directed by Motonobu Hori, known for "Carole & Tuesday" and "Metallic Rouge," and produced by Bones Films. Haruki Ishiya will play Hikaru Gero, and Shion Wakayama will play Mei Kinosaki, a skilled marriage scammer who helps Gero find a partner.
