Freelance announcer Misato Ugaki will appear in Fuji TV's "Monday 9pm" drama "Yandoku!" (Mondays at 9pm), starring Kanna Hashimoto. In the fifth episode, which will air on February 9th, she will play Iwasaki Sara, a "party doctor" who enjoys the celebrity lifestyle. This will be Ugaki's first time appearing in a "Monday 9pm" drama.
Sara, played by Hashimoto, is an orthopedic surgeon. She boasts 120,000 followers on social media, where she posts pictures of her glamorous private life, including designer bags and high-end cuisine. During her breaks, she invites department store sales representatives to the hospital to enjoy shopping. Her personality is the polar opposite of that of Tagami Kotoha, a delinquent-minded neurosurgeon played by Hashimoto, and a unique tension runs through their conversations.
Regarding her role, Ugaki commented, "When I heard I'd be playing the role of a party girl doctor, I was nervous at first as I flipped through the script, but by the time I finished reading, I had grown to love Sara, who is a glamorous, laid-back young lady, but at her core is conscious of problems and fights to create a better world in her own way."
Regarding the filming, he reflected, "The set was bright and lively, with Hashimoto Kanna at the center, and my tension disappeared in an instant. I think I was able to enjoy myself and immerse myself in the world of 'Yandoku!' in the short time I had. As a viewer, I'm looking forward to seeing how the scene where Koonami and Sara go head-to-head turns out!"
It has been announced that actress Mio Kudo and model Yuka Suzuki will also appear in episode 5. Kudo will play hospitalized patient Mayu Ohashi. Mayu suffers from cervical spondylosis and is being examined by Sara, but she also begins to show symptoms of spinal arteriovenous malformation... She aspires to live the celebrity party life like Sara, and posts photos of her high-end brand bags on social media, but in reality she is struggling to make ends meet. Suzuki will play Kanon Sasaki, an orthopedic nurse who admires Sara.
