A behind-the-scenes video for the animated feature film "Kusunoki no Bannin," based on a novel by Higashino Keigo, has been released on YouTube. The behind-the-scenes video shows actor Takahashi Fumiya, who voiced the main character, Naoi Reito, saying he approached the recording with determination, saying, "I want to deliver a performance beyond what I can deliver." The video shows him screaming and wrestling with a large staff member.
It was director Ito Tomohiko's idea to have Takahashi wrestle with the staff while recording, and Takahashi's facial expressions were used in the animation. Takahashi said, "I think this is a really important work for me as an actor."
"Guardian of the Camphor Tree" tells the story of a young man, Naoi Reito, who loses his job due to unjust dismissal and becomes the mysterious "Guardian of the Camphor Tree," where he meets people with various circumstances. In addition to Takahashi, voice actors include Amami Yuki, Saito Asuka, Miyase Ryuya, and Osawa Takao.
It was released on January 30th and recorded a box office revenue of approximately 125 million yen in three days. It got off to a good start, ranking third in the movie attendance rankings from January 30th to February 1st (according to the Box Office Information Company).
