BS Nippon Television's program "Naomi Farm" (Thursdays at 10 p.m.) closely follows the real-life rural life of actor Naomi Zaizen. On February 5th, the show's narrator, the impersonator JP, will visit Zaizen, who lives in Oita Prefecture.
JP visits the Zaizen family to celebrate Zaizen's 60th birthday. JP, who graduated from an agricultural high school, joins them in the fields to harvest home-grown radishes and carrots. They savor the fresh taste of the freshly picked produce.
Next, he plants a pomegranate seedling that was given to him by the program staff as a gift for his 60th birthday. He starts by plowing the field, but it's a lot harder work than he imagined...
In the second half of the program, the program staff visits Zaizen's sister, Miyuki, who runs a home vegetable garden in Australia, to film a 60th birthday celebration comment. They also introduce Australian-style home vegetable gardens, which have some differences from those in Japan.
