Actor Eiichiro Funakoshi will appear with Hideki Takahashi on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will air on February 3rd at 1:00 pm.
The two first met 38 years ago on the set of the TV drama "Takahashi Hideki's Captain Series." When they first met, Funakoshi was so nervous that his legs were shaking, but he was completely captivated by Takahashi's unpretentious appearance and came to regard him as his "senpai."
Funakoshi, 16 years younger than her, is 65 years old and announced last year that he has remarried and had a child. The two happily talk about the changes in their lives, and one thing they have in common is that they both have beloved dogs of the same breed, and they get excited boasting about their beloved dogs.
What surprised Funakoshi was Takahashi's sudden change of attitude after receiving a phone call from his daughter, Maasa. Takahashi, 81, had just undergone surgery under general anesthesia.
