Pre-orders for the "GUNPLA PERFECT MASTER BOOK" (Shogakukan), a mook tracing the 45-year history of Gunpla (Bandai Spirits) from the popular anime series "Gundam," have been going strong, and it has been announced that a reprint will be made ahead of its release on January 29th.
We will be showcasing relevant kits and introducing technologies such as Iropla and System Injection, which allow the color scheme of each part of the aircraft to be achieved through molding alone, as well as Snap Fit, which allows assembly without the need for glue, and Touch Gate, which allows parts to be removed from the runner (frame) without using pliers.
The book is divided into four chapters: 1980, 2002, 2020, and 2025 and beyond. Each chapter includes an anecdote from a Bandai Spirits employee who has been involved in plastic model development for approximately 28 years.
Chapter 4, which mainly focuses on developments after 2025, will provide a detailed explanation of notable kits, including the much-talked-about memorial item "PG UNLEASHED 1/60 ν Gundam," as well as "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" and "Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FEEDOM," with comments from the developers.
