The third episode of Fuji TV's Monday 9pm drama "Yandoku!" starring Kanna Hashimoto was broadcast on January 26th. The scene where Rena Jojima, played by Rio Uchida, follows her best friend Otonami Ko (played by Hashimoto), caused a stir on social media.

Reina works at an upscale club in Nishiki, Nagoya. "My only doctor is Koto (Koto)," she says, taking the Shinkansen to the Tokyo Metropolitan Odaiba Bayside Medical Center. Concerned about Koto's unusual behavior, Reina sharply points out, "I wonder if something's wrong? We're best friends, so I could tell." Koto confesses that neurosurgeon Otomo (Takuma Otoo) told her, "I didn't become a doctor by doing something cowardly like you."
Coming up with a plan, Reina invites Otomo to the hospital cafeteria, saying, "Dr. Otomo, you went to Tokyo University, right? To an elite like you, people like us must look like a different species," and adds, "It must have been really hard for someone from that kind of place to become a doctor," emphasizing how hard Koonami studied to become a doctor.
"Why did you go to such lengths to become a doctor?" asks Otomo. Reina reveals that she had a close friend who died in a motorcycle accident, and follows up by saying, "(Koonami) said she wanted to become a doctor so that no one would have a child like that. So there's no way I threatened her with a backdoor or sugar daddy. Koto also sacrificed a lot and worked herself to the bone to become a doctor."
On social media, the story became a hot topic, with comments such as, "Hashimoto Kanna and Uchida Rio seem to be closer friends than I expected, which is great," "Dario in this drama is a great character," "Uchida Rio is so cool! It's female friendship!" and "Reina followed her like she's best friends."
The drama is a medical entertainment about a young delinquent girl, Koonami Tagami, who studies hard after her best friend dies in an accident and becomes a neurosurgeon, bringing a breath of fresh air to the medical field. The script is written by Nonji Nemoto, who also wrote the NHK morning drama "Omusubi," in which Hashimoto starred.
