The second episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "Reboot" (Sundays at 9pm), starring Suzuki Ryohei, aired on January 25th, and the appearance of the former popular idol became a hot topic.
The drama is an original work that popular screenwriter Kuroiwa Tsutomu spent three years planning. It is a suspense story about a kind-hearted pastry chef, Hayase Riku, who is framed for the murder of his wife, but abandons his beloved family and past to pose as a corrupt Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department detective, Gido Ayumu, in order to prove his innocence and find the real culprit. Suzuki plays both the good-hearted pastry chef who has lost his wife and the corrupt detective.
In the second episode, Hayase (disguised as Gido) is identified by Goro Kuwata (played by Yukiya Kitamura), the leader of an underground organization, as the culprit behind a 1 billion yen robbery. He races to find the real culprit within 24 hours. In this extreme situation, Hayase suspects his accomplice, Ichika Kogo (played by Erika Toda), and tails her. He then witnesses Ichika visiting her sister, who is suffering from the incurable disease pulmonary arterial hypertension, in the hospital, and learns that she is taking action to save her sister's life.
Ichika's younger sister, Kogo Ayaka, will be played by Yuki Yoda , who graduated from the idol group Nogizaka46 in February of last year. Her appearance in the episode began with comments on social media such as, "Yoda-chan appeared!", "Yoda-chan's first appearance in five years since Japan Sinks, Sunday Theatre!", "Older sister: Toda Erika, younger sister: Yuki Yoda are amazing," "Yoda-chan and Toda Erika really look alike.
