The second episode of the TBS Sunday Theatre drama "Reboot" (Sundays at 9pm), starring Suzuki Ryohei, will be broadcast on January 25th.
In the previous episode, Hayase (played by Suzuki) impersonates Gido with the help of Ichika Kogo (played by Erika Toda). Ichika tells him that Goroku (played by Yukiya Kitamura) has called, and he is taken to a private room in a steakhouse.
The organization's executives are gathered there. Goroku, wearing an apron, begins making garlic rice and has Ichika report that a total of 14.9 million yen has been withdrawn from two bank accounts.
The garlic rice is ready and the executives begin to eat, but only Ando (Tsuda Atsuhiro) has a trembling spoon in his hand. "It's better to eat something delicious and end this on a happy note," Goroku tells Ando, who pleads his innocence, but Fuyuhashi (Nagase Ren) hits him from behind with a baton and knocks him unconscious. Ando is dragged into another room, and two gunshots ring out.
The conversation then turned to the whereabouts of the 1 billion yen. Goroku replied, "Gido-san, I was having you investigate when he suddenly disappeared. Well, I had suspected you from the start, and I thought that was probably the case, so I searched desperately for him. But he just came back."
As Hayase looks at Ichika and thinks, "Could it be... that I've been deceived by this person?", he is hit from behind...
In the second episode... A cruel fate awaits Hayase, who has disguised himself as Gido. Goroku determines that Hayase is the culprit behind the robbery of 1 billion yen, and relentlessly pursues him. Falsely accused, Hayase suffers a terrible ordeal, but after a life-risking persuasion, he is told, "If you don't find the real culprit within 24 hours, your life will be lost."
In this extreme situation, Hayase is told by Ichika about Gido's true nature and their relationship, and is left in deep despair, crying bitterly. To make matters worse, he learns that his wife, Natsumi (Yamaguchi Sayaka), has told him a lie. As everything he believed in crumbles, Hayase sees Ichika in a surprising state at the hospital. There he finds Ichika's younger sister, Ayaka (Yoda Yuki). The situation takes an unexpected turn...
The drama is a suspense story about Hayase Riku, who is framed for the murder of his wife, abandoning his family and past, rebooting himself as a corrupt detective, Gido, and pursuing the real culprit. The script is written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, who has worked on many hit Sunday Theatre dramas such as "Grand Maison Tokyo."
