It has been announced that the TV anime "Kami no Shizuku," based on the popular wine manga, will begin airing on TOKYO MX, Kansai TV, and BS Nippon TV from April. Ahead of the broadcast, it has also been announced that an advance screening of episodes 1 and 2 will be held at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills (Minato Ward, Tokyo) on February 28th. A talk show will also be held with voice actors Kazuya Kamenashi, who plays the main character Shizuku Kamisaki, Takuya Sato, who plays Issei Tomine, and Maaya Uchida, who plays Miyabi Murasakinohara.
"Kami no Shizuku" is a wine manga written by manga author Shin Kibayashi, who has worked on many hit works such as "Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo," and others under the pen name "Aki Nao," and illustrated by Okimoto Shu, who also worked on "Psycho Doctor Kai Kyosuke." "Kami no Shizuku" was serialized in "Morning" (Kodansha) from 2004 to 2014, and the final chapter, "Mariage: Kami no Shizuku Final Chapter," was serialized from 2015 to 2020. The sequel to the series, "Kami no Shizuku deuxième," began serialization in the same magazine in September 2023. The series has sold over 15 million copies worldwide.
Shizuku Kamisaki, whose father is the world-famous wine critic Toyotaka Kamisaki, has received special education in wine from a young age. She rebelled against her father and got a job at a beer company, avoiding drinking wine. However, after her father's death and his will, she is thrust into a showdown over the mythical wine "Drops of God" and enters the world of wine.
This is the first time the series has been adapted into an anime, and it has been much talked about that Kamenashi, who played the main character, Shizuku Kamisaki, in the TV drama that aired on Nippon Television in 2009, will also star in the anime. It will be directed by Masashi Itoso and produced by Satelight.
