Tomomi Eguchi, a Caster active on shows such as "Beat Takeshi's TV Tackle" (TV Asahi, Sunday noon), appeared on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (same station), which aired on January 19th. Eguchi, who has a hobby of "nuikatsu," a love of stuffed toys, spoke about her ambitions for the future.
Eguchi has loved stuffed animals since he was a child. On the show, he showed a photo of himself when he was around 5 years old, sleeping surrounded by stuffed animals, and revealed, "(In the photo) I'm sleeping surrounded by my favorite stuffed animals. I'm still sleeping in the same position now."
He likes taking pictures of stuffed animals in various scenes, and says that he has 112 stuffed animals of a character called "Fumofumo-san" at home. "Before I knew it, the number had increased dramatically," he says.
"Stuffed animal activities" is a hobby she shares with her husband, Tsumami Edamame of the "Takeshi Gundan" duo. Eguchi said, "At first, I felt that "Tsumami Edamame" and "stuffed animals" didn't quite mix, and he (Tsumami Edamame) looked down on me. But actually, he loves them."
The couple's dream for the future is to open a "Plush Café" for stuffed animal enthusiasts. "When taking photos of stuffed animals, you place a small cup in front of the stuffed animal, just like yours, and take the photo. Our future ambition is to open a 'Plush Café' where people can do that. It might not be permanent, but it would be great to open a cafe like that for a limited time," they said excitedly.
