It has been announced that the popular webtoon "Tomb Robber King," originally a web novel, will be adapted into a TV anime and will begin airing on Fuji TV and other channels in July. The popular Korean girl band "QWER" will be performing the opening theme "SHOW DOWN." This will be QWER's first anime tie-up. Yoshimasa Hosoya will play the protagonist, Ryoga Goriki, while Saori Hayami Hayami will play Eileen Holton, the daughter of the financial conglomerate Holton family, and Junichi Junichi Suwabe, the chairman of TKBM, one of Asia's largest corporations.
The story is set in a world where mysterious tombs have appeared all over the world and the relics inside them give their owners supernatural powers. The protagonist, Goriki Ryoga, is betrayed by his employer and driven to the brink of death in a tomb, but with the power of the relic he rises to the top of the world and becomes the true "king of tomb robbers"... a dramatic reversal.
Hosoya commented, "It's a story about a man who was unfairly taken advantage of and wiped out by the strong because he was weak, and who then goes back in time to get his revenge. There are a lot of lines to say in each episode, which is tough, but thanks to the passionate acting of the other actors, I'm able to enjoy the revenge (laughs). Please be sure to check it out!"

Suwabe commented, "Okawara Yasumasa is the main character, Goriki Ryoga's, greatest enemy. I don't think there are any viewers who will empathize with him. He's a nasty, bad guy. I will do my best to play the role of a good heel."
