The teaser visual for the TV anime "Kindergarten Wars," based on the manga by Yu Chiba currently being serialized on Shueisha's manga app "Shonen Jump+," has been released. The story is a "violence x romantic comedy" that unfolds at the "world's safest kindergarten." The visual shows Rita, a former legendary assassin and new teacher, and Doug, a senior teacher who is a con artist, standing in the schoolyard of Black Kindergarten. The anime staff has also been announced, with Gomi Shinsuke serving as director and Yamanaka Junko in charge of character design. Sunrise will produce the anime.
"Kindergarten Wars" won an overwhelming number of votes in the reader poll for the "Shonen Jump+ Series Competition Ranking" on "Jump Rookie!", a manga submission and publishing platform run by the "Shonen Jump+" editorial department, and began serialization as an indie manga in 2022. The manga has been released up to volume 15, and has gained popularity with a total circulation of over 2 million copies.
In the anime, Atsumi Tanezaki plays Rita, a former assassin and kindergarten teacher in the Dandelion class, and Kentaro Kumagai plays Doug, Rita's senior and a con artist who is also a kindergarten teacher in the Dandelion class.
