It has been announced that the second season of the TV anime " From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman, " based on a popular work that originated on the novel submission website " Shosetsuka ni Naro ," will be broadcast on 24 TV Asahi affiliates nationwide, BS Asahi, and other stations from July 2026. The series has sold over 9 million copies in total, including comic book adaptations and spin-offs.
Director Kasumi Akio, who is working on the anime, commented, "The second season of the TV anime will finally be broadcast. The entire staff is working hard with an even greater sense of unity. New characters will appear, and Lady Beryl will play an even more active role! The light novel, written by Sagazaki Shigeru and illustrated by Nabeshima, is a classic fantasy about a powerful man who is unwieldy and unmatched without even realizing it. Beryl Gardenant runs a small swordsmanship dojo in a remote village, and when her former student, Allusia, rises to the position of leader of the kingdom's knights at a young age, visits her, she ends up going to the royal capital as a special instructor for the knights... The first season of the anime aired on TV Asahi's anime slot "IMAnimation" from April to June.
