Actor Ogura Soga will appear on Tetsuko Kuroyanagi's long-running talk show "Tetsuko's Room" (TV Asahi), which will be broadcast at 1:00 PM on December 17th. Having recently overcome six cancers, he decided to make a fresh start by changing his stage name from "Ichiro" to "Soa," the pen name he uses for his haiku hobby.
He has been in the entertainment industry for 65 years. He started out as a child actor and entered the Children's Theatre Institute through the introduction of Tatsuo Umemiya. He has since appeared in numerous films, co-starring with Hibari Misora and Yujiro Ishihara. He shares a heartwarming story about his relationship with actor siblings Daisuke Kato and Sadako Sawamura.
He is now 74 years old and says he is blessed with five children and four grandchildren and is living a happy life.
