It has been revealed that Tomochika Haruomi's occult manga "Reiwa no Dara-san," currently serialized on the manga site "Kadocomi" (KADOKAWA) and elsewhere, will be adapted into a TV anime and will air in 2026. The story is about a pair of siblings who enter a long-forbidden area and encounter a supernatural phenomenon, but remain unfazed and grow attached to it, calling it "Dara-san." This is a new-age occult manga. The anime will be directed by Suzuki Masato, who has worked on "Magical Girl ni Kogarete," and character design will be handled by Kikuchi Koichi, who worked on the "KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World!" series. The anime will be produced by Asahi Productions.
Original author Tomotsuka commented, "It doesn't feel real that my work is being made into an anime, and I'm still feeling a little unsettled. I've been involved from the scriptwriting stage, and I feel reassured that the production is really working closely with me. I hope everyone will look forward to the finished product just as much as I am."
Director Suzuki said, "This work is chock full of the charm of the crazy characters living in the Reiwa era. All of our staff are working hard to convey that charm to the fullest. We hope that many people will enjoy it."
Kikuta, who is in charge of character design, said, "We are working hard to create settings that recreate the original artwork as closely as possible. Let's all rediscover the charm of Dara's artwork together!"
A teaser visual and special trailer have been released with the copy, "The sound of bells ringing every night. Is it a curse or misfortune?"
