Details of the new "REBOOT Project" for the anime series "World Trigger," based on Daisuke Ashihara's popular manga, have been announced, revealing that a "completely new" anime series will be made from the first episode of the original manga. The arcs to be adapted will include the Border enlistment arc, the Neighbors' large-scale invasion arc, and the B-rank Rank Wars Beginning arc. Like the second and third seasons, it will be produced by Toei Animation and released as "World Trigger 1st Season."
The announcement was made on the series' official account (@Anime_W_Trigger) on December 11th. Further information will be announced at the Super Stage of Jump Festa 2026, which will be held at Makuhari Messe (Mihama Ward, Chiba City) on December 20th.
"World Trigger" began serialization in February 2013 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). It depicts the battle between the Neighbors, who come from another dimension to invade "this world," and the defense organization Border. It is currently being serialized in "Jump SQ." (Shueisha).
The first season of the TV anime aired from October 2014 to April 2016, the second season from January to April 2021, and the third season from October 2021 to January 2022.
