The 50th episode of the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake " (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others), starring Akari Takaishi, was broadcast on December 5th. In the episode, the "rendezvous" between Toki (Takaishi) and Kotani (Shimokawa Kyohei) came to an unexpected conclusion, which drew various reactions from viewers.
The day that Toki and Kotani had agreed to meet was fast approaching. Unbeknownst to Toki, the Matsuno family had decided to support Kotani, and while they were all excited, Kotani formally asked Toki to rendezvous with him before he left for work.
On the day of the visit, Kotani takes Toki to Seikoin Temple, a famous ghost story spot that Toki knows well. Seikoin Temple is a place that holds many memories for Toki, having visited it with her uncle and father, Den ( Shinichi Tsutsumi), and her ex-husband, Ginjiro (Kanichiro). Toki's excitement reaches its peak, but Kotani seems a little overwhelmed.
Toki explains to Kotani that if he sings the Noh play "Matsukaze" here, the ghost of Matsukaze will appear. Suddenly, Kotani begins to sing Matsukaze. Panicked, Toki tries to stop him, saying, "It will appear! A ghost will appear!" but Kotani continues singing regardless. After finishing the song, Kotani mutters, "I knew it wouldn't appear."
Kotani replied with a cold expression, "I'm sorry... I... can't do it." After hearing that Toki liked ghost stories, she tried reading them herself, but felt she couldn't follow them. Kotani confessed, "I'm very sorry Toki, but... it's a waste of time."
Toki speaks of her feelings about ghost stories, saying, "But I... just like them. I really love them." Kotani then misunderstands her words as a sign of affection, and bows, saying, "I'm happy that you like me, but... I'm sorry!" She returns the ghost story book she had borrowed and leaves. Toki loudly defends herself, saying, "Ah, that's not true! Um, I mean, I mean... ghost stories... not... you..." but her voice doesn't reach Kotani.
