We interviewed Miyabe Elena Kamata , who played the heroine Amane Yukika, and Kamata Erena, who played the villain Liselle Zeludac , in the special effects drama " Kamen Rider Gavv " (TV Asahi, 2024-2025). We spoke to the two, who say they became close while filming the TV series sequel, V-Cinema Next " Kamen Rider Gavv Guilty Parfait" (currently in theaters for a limited time from November 28th).
◇ Miyabe Nozomi "I want a sister like this!"
-- Yukika and LiZEL hardly had any scenes together in the TV series.
Kamata: That's right, it was only once.
Miyabe: We didn't often get to be together on set.
Kamata: But we became good friends while filming the V-cinema!
Miyabe-san: She came over saying, "I've been wanting to meet you, Yukika!" and I thought she was a cheerful girl (laughs). There's a six-year age difference between us, but I was happy that she was so frank with me. Lizel is a spoiled young lady, but Erina-chan is the complete opposite, an incredibly nice girl.
Kamata-san: Non-chan (the name we call her) is just like Yukika-san. She's kind and has a happy aura. She's really kind. She talks to me about all sorts of things, has a cute smile, and has a great figure... I want to be just like Non-chan!
Miyabe: She praises me a lot (laughs). She's always like this, she's like everyone's little sister. I wish I had a little sister like that!
--Have you ever gone out together?
Miyabe: There was an opportunity for all the cast members to go out together, but I couldn't go... We'll have to wait until later. I'm saying we should have a girls' get-together. First of all, I want to have time to talk properly, so let's go out to dinner together!
Kamata: Let's go! I'd also like to go to the planetarium.
Miyabe: Are you sure it's me?
Kamata: I want to go with Non-chan!
◇ Elena Kamata"I took inspiration from Non-chan's fashion"
--Miyabe-san, you've been playing Sachika for a year. Has it had any influence on you?
Miyabe: I've gained a lot of confidence and can now try new things. Before I played Yukina, I often wore trendy fashions, but after playing Yukina, I started wearing a variety of clothes, and for example, I started choosing flashy clothes. Now my closet is full of flashy clothes, and I don't have any clothes that I would wear to a girls' night out (laughs). When people look at photos of me before "Kamen Rider Gavv" started, they say I look like a different person.
Kamata: I also look at Non-chan's fashion on social media and use it as inspiration. I think, "I should add this little detail."
Miyabe: It makes me so happy to hear that! I post my work in the hope that people who see it will think, "So that's how I should wear it."
--This film marks the end of the story of Kamen Rider Gavv, so please give a message to the fans.
Miyabe: Playing the role of Yukina gave me a lot of courage. I feel like I've become a lot stronger myself. I'd be happy if I could be a source of emotional support for everyone. Filming has finished, but I hope you'll continue to support me.
Kamata: I'm sad that it's ending, but there's also a V-cinema, so I'd be happy to see you all again somewhere. Please continue to support "Kamen Rider Gavv"!
--You two may appear together in the future in "Girls Remix," a project by the Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club (TTFC) that brings together all the female characters from the series.
Miyabe: The last time I appeared, I only had a brief appearance delivering... but I was moved to see all the heroines lined up. I'd love to appear again with Erina!
Kamata: I'd like to appear with my arm around her. Or maybe we could share an umbrella using ReZEL's parasol!
Miyabe-san: That's great! I'll ask for it (laughs).
