NHK's documentary program "Document 72 Hours" (General) will be broadcasting a "Local Fair" from 10:00 PM on November 21st, with encore broadcasts of classic episodes set in each region simultaneously in eight areas across the country. This is the first time that different content has been broadcast simultaneously since the program began. All eight classic episodes will be available for catch-up streaming on NHK ONE for one week.
This documentary program focuses on a single location each time, observing the various human dramas that occur there over a period of 72 hours. It listens to the stories of people who meet by chance, capturing the current era.

◇Hokkaido area
"Sapporo Sandwich Shop Continues 24-Hour Operation" (first aired November 6, 2020)
This 24-hour sandwich shop is popular among Sapporo residents. What kind of people visit in the middle of the night or early in the morning? Narrated by Shizuka Ishibashi.
◇Tohoku area
"Kesennuma, Miyagi: Fishermen's Convenience Store" (first broadcast September 17, 2021)
Located near the port, many of the customers are fishermen. What do they buy here before setting off on a long voyage to a distant land? The narrator is Mikako Ichikawa.
◇Kanto-Koshinetsu area
"Minamiboso: Quiet Pier" (first broadcast January 27, 2023)
A mysterious pier stretching straight out into Tokyo Bay. Originally used for landing fish, it has now become a hidden popular spot. Narrated by Shizuka Ishibashi.
◇Tokai and Hokuriku areas
"Giant Skateboard Park: A Great Ride" (first broadcast on December 3, 2021)
A skateboard park in an industrial area that is open 24 hours a day and free of charge. Not only young people but also unexpected people come to skate. Narrated by Kazue Fukiishi.
◇Kansai area
"Lake Biwa, On That Bench" (first broadcast January 12, 2024)
This mysterious spot is known to everyone as "that bench." Lake Biwa itself, with its ever-changing appearance, is also a highlight. The narrator is Mikako Ichikawa.
◇China area
"Okayama 24-Hour Drive-In" (premiering April 14, 2023)
This drive-in is popular for its horumon udon noodles. Located along National Route 2, it's popular with transport drivers. The narrator is Kazue Fukiishi.
◇Shikoku area
"At a Sauna in Imabari, Ehime, that Has Been in Business since the Showa Era" (First broadcast on February Getsuku, 2024)
Saunas have long been popular in industrial towns. This is a strong Showa-era style that stands out from the recent fads. Narrated by Suzuki Anne.
◇Kyushu and Okinawa area
"Fukuoka: The Amusement Park of That Day Will Live Forever" (first broadcast February 25, 2022)
In 2021, Kashii Kaen amusement park closed its doors after 65 years of history. This program looks at the three days leading up to the park's closure. Narrated by MISIA.
