It was announced on November 25th that Wadomura's manga "Tadaima, Ojamasemasu!", which is currently being distributed on the manga distribution site "Comic Seymour" (NTT Solmare), will be adapted into an anime and aired in 2026. The story is a romantic comedy about three people who end up sharing a room due to an unexpected incident, living under the same roof. The anime will be directed and written by Imazaki Itsuki, who has worked on "Ai Mai Mee" and other works, with character design by Kikuchi Shunsuke, who has worked on the "Aikatsu!" series and "Mashin Genesis Wataru." The anime will be produced by Tatsunoko Productions.
The main cast has also been announced, with Kana Hanazawa playing the heroine Nakama Rinko, who ends up sharing a room with two mysterious male neighbors; Ishikawa Kaito Ishikawa, an extremely kind, refreshing and mysterious man who lives next door to Rinko; and Ishiya Haruki playing Usada Haruma, the slightly rough-hewn author of the manga "Usaneko-bu" that Rinko adores, who lives next door to her on the right.
Hanazawa commented, "Congratulations on Tadaoja being made into an anime! Yay! As someone who is nourished by the many heartwarming developments that make Tadaoja so typical of shoujo manga, I hope that everyone who watches the anime will become absorbed in it and enjoy it. I will do my best to play the cute, earnest, and hardworking Rinko so well that everyone will want to join in!"
Ishikawa said, "I am honored to be able to take part in this production, which is an exciting story that you won't be able to take your eyes off of as the characters live a strange and bizarre life with their next-door neighbors. Satsuki is a nice guy who looks good in glasses and exudes a calm, gentle, and gentlemanly aura. There are surprisingly many emotional scenes, so I hope you will pay attention to those as well. I hope you will enjoy the production until the end."
Ishiya said, "Playing this character, who is honest with both himself and others, makes me feel like I could be like him, even though he is also in a position to express something. Original author Watomura commented, "When I first heard that Tadaoja would be made into an anime I was initially overjoyed, but then I thought, 'This must be a trap to give manga artists false hope. It'll probably end up never happening... People are lying... I don't believe...' and I waited to see what would happen, feeling like a strange creature lurking in a wasteland. But it seems that it really will be made into an anime. Thank you!!! I love humans!!!"
Three teaser visuals featuring Rinko, Satsuki, and Usata have been released, along with an illustration by Watomura commemorating the anime adaptation.
The story is about three people: Rinko, a 24-year-old office worker who lives alone and is a closeted otaku; Satsuki, a refreshing gentleman who lives to the left of Rinko's room; and Usada, a manga artist who lives to the right.These people end up living a somewhat unusual room-sharing life after a hole appears in the wall of their room.
