The 44th episode of the NHK Taiga drama " UNBOUND (Berabou) " (General TV, Sunday 8pm and others), starring actor Ryusei Yokohama , titled "Flying Gennai", will be broadcast on November 16th. Inoue Yoshio Inoue will make his full appearance in the role of Shigeta Teiichi from this episode. Inoue, who said he "was busy handling the kite", spoke about his first appearance scene and his impressions of the role.
Inoue plays Shigeta Teiichi, who would later become known as Jippensha Ikku. He is the creator of "Tōkaidō Chū Hizakurige," the story of Yaji and Kita's extraordinary journey. Born in Suruga Province, one day he visits Tsutaju (played by Yokohama) in Nihonbashi. He likes Tsutaju's yellow-covered books and asks to write a book for Koshodō himself, but... In fact, "Tōkaidō Chū Hizakurige," which he wrote after Tsutaju's death, gained a large readership nationwide and established a new genre of humorous books.
He made his first appearance at the end of the 43rd episode last week as a "traveling crow" carrying a large kite, but Inoue laughed, "At first, I think people only knew him as the kite man." He continued, "When filming began, I felt like I was busy handling the kite," and added, "It was so big that it would have been dangerous if there was a headwind. I think the size of the kite reflected Iku's devotion to Edo."
Regarding his role as Shigeta Sadakazu, he said, "I think everyone has heard the name Jippensha Ikku, but there isn't much information about what kind of person he was other than 'Tokaidochu Hizakurige'. In ' UNBOUND', he is in love with Tsutaya and wants to stay there. I feel that he is a very light-hearted person who is good at getting along with people, and has a positive energy that allows him to get by in a bright, fun and cheerful way."
She further revealed, "The role was younger than I expected," and expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "I hope to convey the youthful energy of someone eager to go out into the world, so I will do my best to hide my real age."
With five episodes of the drama remaining to be broadcast, he vowed, "UNBOUND is nearing the end, but I hope to appear here and bring some new energy."
"UNBOUND (Berabou)" is the 64th taiga drama and depicts the life of Tsutaya Juzaburo(or "Tsutajyu" for short), who is said to have laid the foundations for Japan's media industry and pop culture. The script was written by Yoshiko Morishita, who is known for her work on the highly talked-about "Drama 10: Ooku," which aired on NHK two years ago.
