Lawson's new TV commercial, "Let's be happy with the extra excitement!", starring actor Matsuyama Kenichi and talent and singer Obayashi, will be broadcast nationwide from November 17th. Prior to the broadcast, a behind-the-scenes video including interviews with Matsuyama and Obayashi was released on YouTube, in which Obayashi expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "I want to be an idol again."
The two were photographed on a set that resembled a live concert venue, with around 100 people dressed as audience members. When asked in the interview, "What would you like to do again or challenge in your life?", Ourin said with a smile, "I was originally a local idol from Aomori, but today's shoot made me want to do it again! Today felt a bit like a live performance, didn't it? I'm still active as a solo artist, but seeing those passionate people for the first time in a while made me feel like I'd like to perform on stage a little more."
Matsuyama said, "When I was in junior high school, I was on the track and field team and did the pole vault. At the time, Bubka held the world record, and I thought it was amazing to watch him. When I saw Duplantis break the record at this year's World Athletics Championships, I thought to myself, even though I can't jump a world record, I'd like to try the pole vault again."
The new TV commercial promotes the "Oversized Challenge," a two-week campaign to increase the amount of food sold at Lawson stores nationwide starting November 18. The price remains unchanged, but 11 items, including rice balls, bread, bento boxes, and desserts, will be released with approximately 50% more ingredients and weight.
