Actor Isao Hashizume will appear on the BS12 TwellV program "Tsurube-chan and Sawako-chan: A Showa-era Senior and the Odd Two," which will air from 9 p.m. on November 10. He will share stories of his friendship with Hiroshi Akutagawa, the eldest son of author Ryunosuke Akutagawa and a respected senior, as well as with Kirin Kiki, his fellow member of the Bungakuza Theatre.
The show features guests each time, including two "Showa era greats" who call Tsurube Shofutei, who has 53 years of experience in the entertainment industry, and Sawako Agawa, who has 42 years of experience, "Tsurube-chan" and "Sawako-chan."
Hashizume moved to Tokyo in his first year of high school and joined the Bungakuza Theatre Company, which has produced many famous actors. It was there that he met Hiroshi and Kizuki. He also talks about how he received a sudden phone call from the master director Yoji Yamada, whom he had never met before, and how he ended up appearing in the film "Tokyo Family." He also talks about his relationship with his beloved wife, with whom he has been married for 39 years.
