After their daughter, Taeko, and her husband died in an accident, Shinichi and Satoko took in their grandchildren Rin (Wachi Yuzuha) and Makoto (Yamamoto Yuzuki) and the "Twilight States." While Shinichi was unable to properly sort out the situation, Satoko replied, "There's nothing to be confused about. There are two small lives right in front of me that I must protect. I will protect them with all my might. That's what I live for, that's all."
Satoko sends Shinichi off, encouraging him to do his best as he performs the radio exercises. However, when she goes to the radio exercise venue with Rin and Makoto, she finds Shinichi looking listless and with his head down.
"Hey! Nagashima Shinichi! Pull yourself together!"
Satoko's voice rebuking Shinichi echoed throughout the venue. With everyone's attention on her, Satoko raised her eyebrows and said, "I told you earlier, what should I do? I'll tell you the answer. Just shut up and follow me!"
On social media, comments such as "Satoko-san is so strong and cool that I cried," "Satoko-san was too cool this time. Of course, it's hard for Shin-chan, but I'm sure Satoko-san wanted to burst out in tears too," "Isn't it amazing that Satoko-san can act so bravely?" and "I loved the scene where she scolded Shin-chan" were widespread.
