Child actress Yuno Nagao recently appeared dressed as her favorite Star Wars character, Grogu. She spoke with Hiroyuki Amano of the comedy duo Kyaeen, who is a self-proclaimed longtime fan, about the upcoming film Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, which will be released next year.
The two were scheduled to take part in the "Star Wars Parade 2025" at the 52nd Nihonbashi-Kyobashi Festival - Oedo Katsuiki Parade, which was held in Chuo Ward, Tokyo on October 26th, but the event was cancelled due to rain. Amano said, "It's such a shame! I can't show everyone how cute Yuzuno Grogu is..." Yuzuno replied, "It's a shame, but it can't be helped since it's raining."
Yuzuno, who donned Grogu's costume and makeup, revealed the key points of her costume, saying, "I think everything is cute. The hands, hairstyle, ears, makeup, and costume are all really amazing, and it's just like Grogu. It makes me want to go full circle," and then turned around. Seeing the cute Yuzuno, Amano said, "The Mandalorian treats people with a kind of paternal love, or love that goes beyond parent-child love, and when I saw Yuzuno, I understood that feeling. I wanted to protect her." She continued, laughing, "Yuzuno wants to look cool in front of Grogu, so she's tensing up," and Yuzuno praised Amano, who was wearing a Jedi robe, saying, "Isn't it just like that? It's cool! I think it would be really cool to walk around in a robe, with the hood up and a lightsaber."
Grogu looks adorable like a baby, but is actually 50 years old. Yuzuno, who just celebrated her 9th birthday, shared her birthday memories, saying, "Every year on my birthday, I go to Disney. This year, I went to DisneySea, had dinner, went on the rides, and saw a show."
Regarding the new film to be released next year, Amano said, "The moment our child was born, I realized that I would have something more important than myself, but it wasn't because someone told me to; the two of us had a relationship that allowed us to do so. I think Grogu and the Mandalorian both have backgrounds of being completely alone in the world, which is something they share in common. The Mandalorian is wearing a mask so you can't see his expression, but you get the feeling that you can understand it. I hope you'll see that in the theater."
He continued, "Longtime fans will be surprised to learn about the true nature of these characters, and Jabba the Hutt's family also appears on the poster, so there will be many more. I'm looking forward to the appearance of popular characters from the past, but I'm also looking forward to seeing how the world of The Mandalorian is combined with all the latest technology. There are bound to be surprises, and I'm sure there will be some in this movie too! I'm looking forward to finding out things like, 'Wait, that person was still alive?'"
Yuno, who says she became a fan of Star Wars thanks to her father, said, "Because my dad loves it, I've watched the entire series and grown to love it. I haven't seen it in the cinema yet, so I'm so happy, excited, and thrilled to be able to see it in the cinema!"
The film "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu" (directed by Jon Favreau) begins five years after the death of Darth Vader and the collapse of the Empire. The Mandalorian, a ruthless, lone bounty hunter who adheres to his family's strict code of secrecy and completes any job with perfection, accepts a job. The job is to deliver Grogu, also known as "The Child," a being said to possess great Force powers and change the world, alive to the client. The Mandalorian initially surrenders Grogu in exchange for a large reward, but senses a mysterious connection and breaks the family code to recapture Grogu. During their journey, the two gradually develop a bond like that of father and son. However, they are pursued by remnants of the former Imperial Army, desperate to obtain Grogu's powers at all costs... This is the story. The film will be released simultaneously in Japan and the US on May 22, 2026.
Volume 3 of "Star Wars: Visions," in which nine animation studios tell nine stories with their own unique "visions," is being streamed simultaneously in Japan and the United States on "Disney+."
