"DOWNTOWN+," a paid streaming service by the comedy duo Downtown, will launch at 9 p.m. on November 1st. It will kick off with a solo live stream by Matsumoto Hitoshi, who has been on hiatus since January last year.
The live stream will feature new projects by Matsumoto and a call for participants for user participation projects. At the end of the live stream, four titles of content produced and starring Matsumoto will be revealed, along with past TV shows and movies in which Matsumoto and Masatoshi Hamada have each appeared.
The content produced and featured by Matsumoto includes "Ogiri GRAND PRIX," a comedian-comedy battle judged by Matsumoto; "7:3 Talk," in which Matsumoto and a guest converse while performing "a certain task"; "Downbeat Voice," in which Matsumoto and a guest engage in quiet exchanges to help listeners sleep; and "If you get to the core, you lose! Pointless Story Tournament," in which listeners engage in five minutes of one-on-one pointless conversation, with the person who tells the least interesting story winning.
Starting November 3rd, Downtown will stream past episodes every Monday, and original content every Wednesday and Friday. After that, Matsumoto will stream live once or twice a month (on Saturdays), and many new projects will be implemented. Hamada's content will be announced at a later date.
The monthly fee is 1,100 yen, or 11,000 yen per year. Set plans with video streaming services such as "ABEMA" and "U-NEXT" are also available.
