"Sandwichman & Ashida Mana's Hakase-chan " (TV Asahi) is a program in which children with knowledge and talents that rival those of adults give entertaining lessons as " Hakase-chan " (teachers). On November 1st, a two-and-a-half hour special will be broadcast from 6:30 pm to 8:54 pm, and will feature a director's cut of the much talked about "Sagrada Familia episode" that was aired on May 31st.
The May episode featured the Sagrada Familia, a World Heritage Site in Spain that was designed by the genius architect Antoni Gaudi and is currently under construction. MC Mana Ashida and TV personality Naomi Watanabe reported on the interior and explored the appeal of this "unfinished masterpiece." Ashida also interviewed Etsuro Tono, the Japanese chief sculptor of Sagrada Familia, which garnered rave reviews, with viewers saying it was a "great episode" and "Mina is a great interviewer!"
This Director's Cut version features previously unreleased footage, such as Ashida and Watanabe cycling around Barcelona. It also includes the complete interview with Tono. Tono, who is said to be "one of the inheritors of Gaudi's will," talks about the thoughts that Gaudi put into the Sagrada Familia.
