Actors Kyoko Yoshine and Kyoya Honda attended the Tokyo Drama Awards 2025 ceremony held in Tokyo on October 28th. The drama series "A Calm Sea and Beautiful Days with You and in which they co-starred as a married couple, won the Excellence Award in the Drama Series category, and the two appeared on stage together, showing off their perfect chemistry.
Yoshine said, "Just like the title suggests, this is a team I love; it's truly gentle, warm, and filled with love. Thank you so much for giving us this happy evening where we can all get together again today and talk about how happy we are. I am filled with gratitude. I will continue to cherish the happiness I feel every day and work hard so that I can give back to this production."
After finishing her speech, Yoshine asked, "Honda-kun, is there a problem?" Honda was handed the microphone and replied, "Yes, there is no problem," using the familiar line from the drama, warming the hearts of the audience.
The Tokyo Drama Awards are an awards ceremony held for the 18th time this year to recognize outstanding television dramas, focusing on the quality of the work, marketability, and commercial viability, with the concept of "Japanese dramas that we want to show to the world."
The Grand Prix in the Best Drama Series category went to " Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea " (TBS), starring Ryunosuke Kamiki, which aired last October. The Best Actor award went to Tori Matsuzaka for " Mikami Sensei " (TBS), Nao for "Tokyo Salad Bowl" (NHK), Best Supporting Actor to Akihiro Kakuta for " The Hot Spot " (NTV), Best Supporting Actress to Hana Sugisaki for " Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea ," Best Screenplay to Roba Shimori for " Mikami Sensei," and Best Direction to Ayuko Tsukahara, Director of "Diamonds Sleeping in the Sea."
