The Fuji TV Wednesday 10pm drama "If This World Were a Stage, Where Would the Dressing Room Be?" (Wednesdays at 10pm) is written by Koki Mitani and stars Masaki Suda. The synopsis and stills for episode 5, which will air on October 29th, have been released.
On the first day of the performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," a meeting is held at the WS Theater for all involved parties. After stage director Ban Sakusa (Nomaguchi Toru) explains the schedule for the day, Kube Mitsunari (Suda) loudly declares, "The Kube Theater Company is launching," and the hall erupts in cheers.
Meanwhile, Egashira Ronpei (Bando Yajuro), the priest of Hachibun Shrine, and Juri (Hamabe Minami) arrive at the WS Theater to perform a purification ritual. Ronpei grins as he sees Koda Rika (Nikaido Fumi) pass by in front of him, while Juri is disgusted by the sight of her father.
An altar was then set up on the stage of the WS Theater, and the purification ritual began. In the serene silence, Kube gazed upon the stage with extraordinary emotion...
The drama is a coming-of-age ensemble drama set in Shibuya in 1984, and is a completely original story that includes semi-autobiographical elements from Mitani. In a corner of Shibuya, a bustling center of youth culture, the drama depicts the struggles, setbacks, and sometimes love affairs of young people who are still unknown, in the full "Mitani world."
