It has been announced that the first part of the film version of " Sound! Euphonium 3," the third season of the TV anime series Sound! Euphonium, based on the novel by Ayano Takeda , titled " Sound! Euphonium: The Final Movement," will be released in 200 cinemas nationwide on April 24, 2026. The first key visual has been released, depicting the protagonist, Oumae Kumiko, and her friend, Kosaka Reina, standing with dignified expressions, with the backs of the previous club presidents and vice-presidents behind them. The accompanying tagline reads, "This trajectory will become the next song."
A trailer including new scenes has also been released. The video features the impressive background music "Hell's Orpheus" (also known as Heaven and Hell), which was used in the scene from the first season where Kumiko sheds tears and pours out her frustration, as well as the senior students' heartfelt words about winning the gold medal at the national competition. The video is filled with the determination of Kumiko and Reina and the passion of youth.
"Sound! Euphonium" is set in the Kitauji High School brass band and depicts the growth of the brass band members, including euphonium player Kumiko Oumae. The first season of the TV anime aired from April to June 2015, and the second season aired from October to December 2016.
The third and final season, "Sound! Euphonium 3," aired on NHK Educational TV from April to July 2024. It depicted the passionate final moments of Kumiko's high school life as she enters her third year and becomes the captain of the Kitauji High School brass band. Following on from the previous series, it was directed by Tatsuya Ishihara and produced by Kyoto Animation. The theatrical version, " Sound! Euphonium: The Final Movement," was directed by Ishihara and directed by Taichi Ogawa.
