Akari Takaishi stars in the NHK Asadora drama "Bakebake" (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8:00 AM and others). On October 25th, we will look back on the fourth week, "Futari, Kurasu, Shimasu ka?" (October 20th to 24th).
"Bakebake" is the 113th morning Asadora. Based on the story of Lafcadio Yakumo Koizumi(Lafcadio Hearn) and his wife Setsu, the story follows a couple, with a love of ghost stories, as they go about their everyday lives together with their foreign husband. Takaishi plays the main character, Toki Matsuno, while Tommy Bastow plays Toki's husband, Lefkada Heaven.
In the fourth week, Den (Shinichi Tsutsumi) dies, the weaving factory goes bankrupt, and Toki (Takaishi) loses his job.
The Matsuno family is struggling to repay their debts, and talk of Toki becoming a prostitute resurfaces. Ginjiro (Kanichiro) tries to support his family by taking on more work to protect Toki, but ends up clashing with Kan'emon (Fumiyo Kohinata) and abandoning the Matsuno family. In the midst of despair, Toki learns of Ginjiro's whereabouts and sets off for Tokyo.
On her first visit to Tokyo, Toki arrives at Ginjiro's boarding house, where she meets Nishikori (Ryo Yoshizawa), a brilliant young man born in Matsue. Ginjiro returns to the boarding house, and Toki and Ginjiro are reunited. Toki wants to live with Ginjiro in Matsue, while Ginjiro wants to start their marriage over again in Tokyo. In the end, Toki cannot abandon the Matsuno family, so she breaks up with Ginjiro and returns to Matsue alone... and that's how the story unfolds.
