It has been announced that actress Haruka Momokawa will be appearing in the new special effects drama "Ultraman Omega" in the "Ultraman" series. Momokawa played the genius young scientist Takada Rui in "Ultraman X," which aired in 2015, and will be returning to the "Ultraman" series for the first time in about 10 years. Momokawa will appear in episode 18, "Barossa's House," which will air on November 15th and will be directed by Taguchi Kiyotaka, who was the main director of "Ultraman X," and will play the mysterious girl Gilda. A cut from the November episode has also been released.
Momokawa commented, "I am truly honored to be able to appear in the Ultraman series for the first time in 10 years. This time, I will be playing the mysterious girl Gilda! Director Taguchi and the other staff members, who are full of love for Ultraman, welcomed me as warmly as they did 10 years ago, and I had a really enjoyable time filming, which was a truly happy time. Episode 18, in which Momokawa will appear, will feature the pirate alien Barossa, who has collected numerous weapons and treasures since his first appearance in "Ultraman Z" It was also announced that Kenta Miyake will be the voice actor for the Barossa alien (5th generation) Zargon.
Miyake said, "Zargon seems to have quite the collecting habit, which is something I can relate to, so I feel a strong sense of affinity with him. I've always had the image of the aliens that appear in the Ultraman series slipping into the cracks in the human heart, such as Alien Mephilas (Ultraman), Alien Peroringa (Ultra Seven), and Alien Clean (Ultraman Leo). When I think that Alien Barossa may also have a similar personality, I feel a sense of awe and it ignites my sense of purpose and mischief. Zargon will do his best to not lose to the Ultramen, so please look forward to it!"
"Ultraman Omega" stars Okida Sorato, an alien (Ultraman) who suddenly falls from the sky onto an Earth where neither heroes nor monsters exist. Sorato transforms into Ultraman Omega and fights monsters, teaming up with the Earthling Hoshimi Kosei to explore the question, "Why does Ultraman protect the Earth?" Takei Masayoshi, known for "Ultraman R/B" and "Ultraman Decker," serves as main director, with Nemoto Toshizo and Ashiki Junichiro handling series composition. Actor Shori Kondo plays the lead character, Sorato. The series airs every Saturday at 9:00 AM on TV Tokyo.
