The 19th episode of the NHK Asadora"Bakebake " (Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM and other times), starring Akari Takaishi as the heroine, was broadcast on October 23rd, and the surprising identity of Nishikori Yuichi ( Ryo Yoshizawa) was revealed, causing a stir among viewers.
Toki follows her runaway husband Ginjiro (Kanichiro) to Tokyo, where she meets Nishikori and Imperial University students Negishi (Hideki Kitano) and Wakamiya (Toru Tanaka) at the boarding house where Ginjiro is staying. Ginjiro works as a rickshaw driver, while Negishi and Wakamiya attend Imperial University. Meanwhile, Nishikori is studying for an exam, but it is not revealed what exam it is for or what he does on a daily basis.
In episode 19, on the day Nishikori takes his exam, Toki, Ginjiro, and others send him off, celebrating his success. Nishikori seems confident, saying, "Leave it to me." When Toki says, "I know the Imperial University exam is very difficult, but I'm rooting for you," Negishi and Wakamiya, who are watching, mutter a puzzled "Huh?"
Ginjiro then explained to Toki, "Nishikori-san, he's not a student at the Imperial University. He only graduated from a lower elementary school." Toki was speechless, so Ginjiro continued, "Apparently his family was poor and he was physically weak from a young age, so he dropped out of middle school and worked as a teacher without any qualifications, but he came to Tokyo to get a proper middle school teaching qualification." He added, "Today is the teacher qualification exam, and if he passes all the subjects, he'll eventually be eligible to graduate from the Imperial University and even become a principal."
Nishikori is the most talented student in Matsue, and is nicknamed "Daibanseki." He will be working as an English teacher at Matsue Junior High School, and will be supporting Lefkada Heaven (Tommy Bastow), a foreign teacher who has come to Matsue.
Like Toki, many viewers thought that the talented Nishikori was a student at the Imperial University, and comments were posted on social media such as "What! Nishikori isn't a student at the Imperial University!", "What?! What an unexpected turn of events," "So unexpected, I'm shocked," "He must have had a very hard time," "Nishikori's background is solid and the result of hard work," "Nishikori couldn't go to the Imperial University for various reasons, but I'm sure he has outstanding abilities," and "He's a man who works incredibly hard."
