It was revealed on October 14th that the average weekly viewership rating ( Asadora) for the second week of "Bakebake " (General TV, Monday to Saturday 8am and others), the NHK morning drama starring Akari Takaishi for the second half of 2025, "Muko, Morau, Muzukashi" (October 6th to 10th) was 14.8% (calculated from Video Research, Kanto region).
" Bakebake" is the 113th morning Asadora. Based on the story of Yakumo Koizumi(Lafcadio Hearn) and his wife Setsu, the story follows a couple, with a love of ghost stories, as they go about their everyday lives together with their foreign husband. Takaishi plays the main character, Toki Matsuno, while Tommy Bastow plays Toki's husband, Lefkada Heaven.
In the second week, Toki (Takaishi) and the Matsuno family, who have fallen into a fallen samurai family, decide to marry in order to escape their impoverished life, but the love fortune telling they get in the mood for turns out to be disastrous.
In an attempt to cheer up the depressed Toki, Tsukasanosuke(Takashi Okabe), Fumi (Chizuru Ikewaki), Kan'emon (Fumiyo Kohinata) and the rest of the family join forces to begin a search for a potential husband for Toki. Toki's ideal partner is "Azukiarai, who loves ghost stories!" Furthermore, with the family's wishes also interfering, the search for a husband takes a turbulent turn.
Then, Toki gets a second chance at an arranged marriage meeting, where she meets Ginjiro Yamane(played by Kanichiro), the eldest son of a former samurai from the Tottori domain.
