A human story set in a Shiba Inu magazine begins

The NHK drama series "Shiba no Okite: Warera Inu-Idiot Editorial Department," starring actors Shunsuke Daito and Marie Iitoyo, will begin airing on September 30th in the station's "Drama 10" time slot (General TV, Tuesdays at 10pm). Set in the Shiba Inu magazine "Shiba ONE," the story is a human story that gently unravels the tangled hearts of people.

The drama is based on the non-fiction book "Heisei Dog-crazy Editorial Department" by Katano Yuka, and Daito plays Sagara Shunichi, the editor-in-chief of a magazine specializing in Shiba Inu dogs, while Iitoyo plays Ishimori Reika, an editor who is somehow at odds with Sagara.

Other cast members include Hairi Katagiri, Ken Koga, Yushin Shinohara, Yasu-san, Daisuke Kuroda, Kumi Takiuchi, Masanobu Katsumura, and Keiko Matsuzaka. The voice of the Shiba Inu dog, Fukusuke, is provided by Tokio Emoto, and the voice of Bomb is provided by Kenjiro Tsuda.

The subtitle of the first episode is "A Shiba Inu on the Brink!?" Sagara Shunichi (Daito), editor-in-chief of a pachinko magazine, is forced out of his position due to a boycott by his subordinates and is tasked with developing a new magazine. He then launches "Shiba One," a magazine for dog lovers, with his beloved dog Fukusuke as his partner. A young editor, Ishimori Reika (Iitoyo), joins the team, but soon clashes with Sagara. Veteran editor Seike (Katagiri), photographer Mita (Koga Ken), and veterinarian Namezawa (Matsuzaka Keiko) also join the team, and they struggle to create the magazine...
